DANIEL HIGGS - Solo (US)
Daniel Higgs är strandad i göteborg i en vecka pga askmolnet från Eyjafjallajökul. Förra veckan gjorde han en skandinavinturné med Skull defekts då de t.ex spelade på Nefertiti och på Gothenburg string theory på Konserthuset, och nu har ni chansen att se honom spela solo. Vissa av er minns säkert hans fantastiska konsert på Axel-huset i Oktober?
Daniel Arcus Incus Ululat Higgs från Baltimore har under tre decennier använt musik, poesi, teckningar och tatueringar som utlopp för sin konstnärliga ådra. Han är mest känd som excentrisk frontman och textförfattare i legendariska Dischordbandet Lungfish. Higgs solokarriär spänner från esoteriska improvisationer med mungiga till droneinfluerad banjomusik. Live är Higgs en mässande pastor från en annan dimension, med sånger som påverkar sinnet på alla plan.
Daniel A.I.U Higgs, Interdimensional Song-Seamstress and Corpse-Dancer of the Mystic Crags was born in the Harbor City of Baltimore, USA in the early-mid sixties of the previous millenium. Having begun singing 25 years ago, he is perhaps best known as the singer and lyricist of the band Lungfish, which is now, as it often has been, quasi if not entirely defunct. Presently, the music Daniel manifests proceeds without the blessing/curse and help/hinderance of collaborative influence.

SMALL COLOUR (Jap, 12K)
Small color are duo of Yusuke Onishi and Rie Yoshihara based
in Yokohama, Japan. They create bright and emotional alternative
pop music based on the guitar and voice with such nostalgic
accents as the accordion, toy piano and the organ. Despite the
heavy emphasis on acoustic instruments Small Color do not shy
away from adding electronics to the warm sound palatte.
Onishi is a sound artist, composer and guitarist and the primary
producer for Small Color. Yoshihara is an accomplished accordion
player and instructor. In Small Color she is responsible for the
vocals, atmospheres and art direction. Yoshihara also records
under the name Trico! and has released two solo albums for the
Flyrec label in japan.
In addition to music Yoshihara is a photographer and known cook.
She will release a cookbook in 2010.

SUMMER RECRIATION CAMP (Esp, Discos Compulsivos / LUV LUV)
Cristian Subirà (aka Summer Recreation Camp) is an active member of Barcelona’s underground music scene. Member of several bands in his hometown (Dead Man on Campus, Coconot, Gärgamel and Narwhal) has also colaborated live with other local acts such as Les Aus, Albaialeix, Espaya o La Orquesta del Caballo Ganador.In his free time he also runs a smal DiY/Non profit label and show promoter called Discos Compulsivos / LUV LUV.
During the last year Cristian has focused on his solo stuf due to Coconot’s long hiatus (his band matesPablo Díaz-Reixa-El Guincho- and Jens Neumaier -Giulia y los Tellarini- have an intense tour schedule), trying to figure out he’s own sound away from the bands psycho-pop tropicalia, mixinglo-fi electronics, shoegazing, world beats, space guitars and new romantic melodies.
Summer Recreation Camp has shared stage with White Magic, Zbigniew Karkowski, Publicist, Laundry RoomSquelchers and Andrew Bernstein (Teeth Mountain) to name some, ….

WEASEL WALTER/ SHEIK ANORAK/MARIO RECHTERN TRIO (US/Fra, Gaffer)
Weasel Walter is a multi-instrumentalist from Oakland, CA. In early 80´s he started the well known jazz/punk outfit The Flying Luttenbachers, which became one of the most interesting band these days. Now, he plays with tons of improvisers from all over the globe including Jim O´Rourke, Kevin Drumm, Henry Kaiser, Sheik Anorak, Mario Rechtern and many more…!
Sheik Anorak lives in Lyon, France where he started the indepedent label Gaffer records. Gaffer´s roster include great artists such as Jazkamer (no), Offonoff (Paal Nilssen Love, Terrie EX and Massimo ZU ), MoHa!, Tape That, Talibam!, Mats Gustafsson… Sheik uses his guitar as a noise generator to create layers of wild sounds.
Mario Rechtern now lives in Vienna, Austria … and sometimes in Italy. He´s one of the most talented sax player nowadays. He uses several old instruments and electronic devices in order to give birth to ” never heard before” sounds.
Their first recording as a trio will be aavailable soon via Gaffer records.

ELIFANTREE (Fin/swe)
Elifantree is an expulsive acoustic trio. They play their own music which could be described as acoustic jazzpop with a punk attitude. Due to the instrumentation the band sound is open and raw with a big range of different moods from free and wild to intimate and fragile. The music is mostly based on beautiful, melodic songs spiced with personal arrangements and free improvisations.
Anni, Pauli and Tatu are all colorful individuals which gives a strong impact on their musical interpretation. These three different voices make Elifantree an impulsive and unpredictable group. Love and friendship unites this trio by Paulis and Annis strong bound to each other and Tatus and Paulis long and dear friendship. Elifantree has existed for over two years and so far they have done several concerts in Finland, Sweden and Turkey.
